long-way-home-hanover-brothers-helenkay-dimonFormer FBI agent, Grace, lost all that was important to her when she kept information from her live-in boyfriend, Callen.  He felt betrayed and left her.  He even changed his phone number so she couldn’t find him.  Now she’s called in some favors with others still in the bureau and has finally tracked him down.

Callen is still hurting from Grace’s betrayal, but has thrown himself into fixing up their family home and reconnecting with his brothers.  But it seems life just keeps throwing him curve ball after curve ball.  Not only is his dad a con-man that forced him along on some of his scams when he was ripped from his mother, but now he learns that she wasn’t even his real mom!!  But none of that even compares to Grace being back in town and he’s floored when she delivers the news that she’s carrying his child!  Now he must decide if he can stay and face the music and a chance for true love, or pull up stakes and run like he usually does when things get rough.

Overall I thought this was a pretty sweet and interesting story.  I really loved the Hanovers.  Callen and Declan were a lot of fun.  They are stand-up caring guys that have not always had an easy life, and with people always coming after them for things their father did, it’s important for them to stick together and face any challenges that come their way.  I love seeing how protective they are of one another and the people they love!  I also like that just because one character’s story is over, doesn’t mean we can’t see other scenes in future books from their point of view.  Even though this story is about Callen and Grace, it was nice to see a few scenes from Declan’s point of view!  I’m anticipating seeing several scenes from Callen’s point of view in future installments as the birth of their child gets closer!

Speaking of Callen and Grace, their relationship definitely is full of struggles, especially trust issues.  I think there are better ways for them to come back together than what actually happened in this book.  But once they got back together, I truly enjoyed them!  I look forward to seeing more of them and the Hanover family in the future!

And I’m sure there will be a Walker book in our future as well:)  This series definitely has more story to tell and I can’t wait to read what happens!
