INTERVIEW WITH HIRO SANADA, NEW LOST CHARACTER DOGEN

Who is Lost’s new character Dogen? You know he looks familiar, but your not quite sure where to place him. Hiroyuki Sanada is one of Japan’s biggest stars, who made his U.S. debut in The Last Samurai.  Read the interview for details.

Sanada’s career actually spans over 40 years, and Japanese projects such as The Twilight SamuraiThe Ring and Detective Zame have made him a household name in Japan and garnered him international acclaim.

In 2000, Sanada was the first ever Japanese actor to perform with the Royal Shakespeare Company, playing the role of The Fool in King Lear opposite Nigel Hawthorne. For the role, Sanada was awarded an MBE from the Queen of England.

It will be interesting to see how his character plays out on Lost. Is he the good guy? Bad guy? So far it looks like his main concern is The Island, so that can place him on any side. What do you think? Should the survivors trust him?
