CONFIRMED: GMA to debut full-length trailer for ‘The Hunger Games’ movie Monday Via Examiner

Good Morning America has announced it will debut a sneak peek of The Hunger Games on Monday morning, November 14th, and Lionsgate confirmed it would be the full-length trailer for the movie.

Furthermore, the debut will be hosted in person by Josh Hutcherson, who portrays Peeta Mellark in The Hunger Games movie. The trailer will debut during the 8:00 (Eastern Time) hour of GMA on Monday. Besides airing nationwide, it will also be shown on GMA’s jumbotron in Times Square.

The Young Cast of The Hunger Games via Vanity Fair

While the odds may not be in favor of these actors in the arena, they certainly were in the casting room. In what was one of the most-watched casting calls for young actors since Twilight, auditions for The Hunger Games were a battle royale in their own right. Anxious to make the cut, hopefuls went all out: they covered their faces with dirt, put twigs in their hair, and wielded various weapons (including a Nerf crossbow and plastic butcher knife). It was all for the chance to play the “tributes” who fight each other to the death in contests broadcast throughout Panem (the futuristic ruins of North America) in the film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’s wildly popular young-adult novels. Ultimately, director Gary Ross took a liking to a fresh-faced cast that includes stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth, and a host of new breakout actors.

Jennifer Lawrence gushes about her work on ‘The Hunger Games’ via Examiner

The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence is a busy actress these days. Shortly after finishing work on Hunger Games in North Carolina, she headed to Philadelphia, where she is filming The Silver Linings Playbook. But she’s not too busy to pause and talk about the movie that has The Hunger Games fandom buzzing.

“Katniss is an incredible character,” Lawrence told Vanity Fair magazine recently. “She’s a hunter but not a killer, a 16-year-old who’s being forced into the arena. These kids are killing one another only because if they don’t they’ll die. It’s needless, pointless, unjustified violence. It’s heartbreaking.”
