Summary:

In the third book of Lexie Dunne’s action-packed Superheroes Anonymous series, Hostage Girl returns once again to save the world.

Gail Godwin—once so famous for being kidnapped by supervillains, the media still calls her Hostage Girl—is done with superheroes and their shadowy schemes. She’s got a cute boyfriend, a great roommate, and she’s even returned to her old job. For the first time in years, life is exactly what she wants it to be.

But when a figure from her past resurfaces, he brings with him a plague that changes the game for every superhero and villain out there. Now Gail must team up with both friend and foe to help save the world she thought she had left behind.

Review:

Gail Godwin is trying to live her life as normally as possible, but at every corner there is a person that needs help, or a villain that wants to kidnap her again, or even now fight her. She when back to her old job and put it back together, and know is living with her roommate Angeline, while dating Blaze, now War Hammer, Guy Bookman. Gail powers have changed and now she has the ability to copy other people’s powers. Things are going well for Gail, but not for long. It appears that her maker is still alive and in the hands of another scientist that will use his knowledge for evil. It’s on Gail and the other Superheroes, and some Villains to find him before everyone becomes ordinary.

I liked How to Save the World, I have been following this series since it came out and I’m happy with this book. While at first I felt that it was going a little slow, I saw my mistake and wasn’t able to put it down to sleep. The story was engaging and fun to read, while also hiding mystery and secrets.

I have always liked the ability to copy other powers, and I loved that it was used in this book. I also liked that the author didn’t had Gail copy all the powers she comes across, but made it specific. Powers are the main topic of this series and also of this book because mad scientists are always trying to find a way to defeat the good guys.

We know that Gail is a good person and will always try to do what is best, but her moral code is different than normal heroes, and that’s something that I liked about her. In this book, we see her making hard choices and see her deal with her decisions, while trying to save everyone.

While I don’t know if there are going to be more books to come, I feel that there should be because there were some questions left unsolved, and I see a lot of material for more stories in this wonderful world that Lexie Dunne has made. I would love to read more about these superheroes.

I loved Raptor and her story, I want to know more about her and her family interaction.

If you are a fan of the series Superheroes Anonymous series or of author Lexie Dunne, the I recommend you How to Save the World. In this book, everyone that is special or has superpowers is in danger and only Gail Godwin/Hostage Girl can save the world from those who want it to be rule by evil.
