Review:

Anna Harrington has again given the reader a delightful historical romance. With complexity to the characters and a setting that the reader can immerse in she captured my attention from page 1.

With stolen kisses, secrets and espionage the story is fast moving. Add that to passion, a clash of personalities and of course the wrath of the Ton and I was hooked.

Josephine is tiny and innocent however she is hiding a secret and when she gets kissed unexpectedly at a ball (a victim of mis-identity) she does not know what to do with the feelings she encounters. Adopted at birth she knows she will never be able to fit into society so she devotes her time to helping the orphaned children. The orphanage she helps at also harbours secrets that could damage a lot of names among the rich and powerful. She decides at any cost she will continue her mission but Thomas steps in and begins to thwart her plans.

Thomas also has birth secrets he has been able to keep from the Ton. Recently shot and wounded he is fighting to gain his job back as a spy ( they have said he has lost his nerve) so when asked to find out who the mysterious highwayman that is stealing from high society is Thomas jumps at the chance. Finding who it is though means he will bring out more secrets that in turn may find him again without a job or love.

I must say I loved this third book of the Anna Harrington series  for although you know who the love interests are from the beginning  she has the ability to tell a great story and keeps you interested and excited  throughout.  I know I for one will certainly keep my eyes open for more books from this author.
