Open Book Society wants to congratulate the director Tim Burton to his birthday!

Timothy William Burton was born August 25, 1958 in Burbank, California. He is famous for his dark, quirky-themed movies such as ‘Beetlejuice’, ‘Edward Scissorhands’, ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’, ‘Sleepy Hollow’, ‘Corpse Bride’ and ‘Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street’. Tim Burton also directed blockbusters like ‘Pee-wee’s Big Adventure’, ‘Batman’, ‘Batman Returns’, ‘Planet of the Apes’, ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ and ‘Alice in Wonderland’. He also wrote and illustrated the poetry book ‘The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories’ and ‘The Art of Tim Burton’, a compilation of his drawings. Among Tim Burtons many collaborators are his best friend Johnny Depp, musician Danny Elfman and domestic partner Helena Bonham Carter. His next films will be ‘Dark Shadows’, a film adaptation of the soap opera, and a remake of his short ‘Frankenweenie’.
