GRAPHIC BOOKS BEST-SELLER LIST
The first volume of Marvel’s “Dark Avengers” series, written by Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated by Mike Deodato, enters our paperback list at No. 6 this week. This new team emerged from “Secret Invasion,” an event mini-series that pitted Marvel’s heroes against a race of alien of shapeshifters up to no good. The final blow to the alien threat was delivered by Norman Osborn, the former Green Goblin, who became admired through out the world. Alas, his bad behavior was not behind him. He assembled a team of Avengers who looked familiar – Wolverine! Spider-Man! Ms. Marvel! – but are actually super-villains. This collection, “Assemble,” chronicles their story.
“Dark Avengers” is just one twist in a series of stories written by Mr. Bendis. The next chapter, “Siege,” began last week.
