Krackens, Griffins, Dragons and more for Syfy on Beast Legends, Sept. 9

“What If” Beasties are coming to Syfy.

Syfy will premiere Beast Legends, a new six-part series which journeys around the world using scientific data to reconstruct what mythological monsters, from Krakens and Griffins to Fire Dragons, would have looked like.

The debut of Beast Legends on Thursday, September 9, at 10PM (ET/PT) follows the fourth season return of Destination Truth at 9PM (ET/PT).

In each of the hour-long episodes, Beast Legends uncovers historical and eyewitness accounts by zeroing in on archaeological and other physical evidence to assemble the most accurate picture possible of these alleged monsters, from where they might have lived to how they would have behaved.

‘Vampire Diaries’ Casting Scoop: Maiara Walsh To Romance Steven R. McQueen?

TV Guide is reporting that “Desperate Housewives” actress Maiara Walsh will appear on the Oct. 7 episode of “TVD” as high-schooler (and major partier) Sarah.

“Sarah is a girl who sets her eyes on Jeremy and encourages him to party it up at the Lockwood house,” “TVD” executive producer Kevin Williamson told TV Guide. Considering executive producer Julie Plec already alluded to a growing connection between Tyler and Jeremy, it’s no surprise Jeremy will be spending more time around the Lockwood residence.

A lot of people have been added to the cast for the new season of Vamp Diaries. I guess that just means more death. Do you think most of the new additions will die?

I am not surprised to see Ford advertising through Vampire Diaries. Volvo did the same thing in Twilight. Vampires bring in big money. Do you think Ford will sell more cars because they advertised on Vampire Diaries?

True Blood’s Ryan Kwanten’s Hidden Talent: Prankster

True Blood star Ryan Kwanten may be a sex symbol to fans, but his costars say there’s much more to the hunky actor who plays the dim but endearing Jason Stackhouse.

“I think if Ryan could retire from acting and be a prankster, he would consider it,” Jim Parrack, who plays Hoyt Fortenberry on the HBO hit, tells PEOPLE.

So what was one of Kwanten’s more memorable pranks? “He took our cameraman’s car and filled it with ladybugs,” says Parrack. “He goes all out.”

I don’t have a hard time believe Ryan is a prankster. He looks ornery!

Courtney Ford teases ‘Diaries’ role

Courtney Ford has revealed details of her role in the new season of The Vampire Diaries.

Ford told E! Online that her character will meet Alaric (Matt Davis), Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) when they visit Duke University.

“I play Vanessa Monroe, a Duke University grad student who’s helping Alaric, Damon and Elena with Isobel’s research,” she said. “It’s a nice arc.”

Ford added that Vanessa will struggle to come to terms with the existence of vampires, saying: “Vanessa has a conflict because she studies all this wonderful mythology and folklore, but half of her is a complete sceptic. Half of her is a believer, and half of her is a sceptic, and she goes back and forth. It’s a big conflict for her.”

Ford also hinted that she will have a love interest on the show but refused to reveal any more details.

“I want to tell you so much but I can’t,” she said. “They’ll kill me if I reveal too much!”
